Hold On—Your Season Will Come

In time, you will bloom, Beautiful One. 🌸

My husband and I recently got away to celebrate 19 years of marriage. It was a time to step away from our normal responsibilities, enjoy one another, rest, and simply be present.

And then, there at the doorstep, I saw this little flower.

It may have been just a flower in a pot to someone else, but for me, it became a moment of reflection.

I thought about a season of my life when I didn’t feel as though I was blooming at all.

My world had completely shifted because of medical reasons. I lost my job, and with that loss came changes I wasn’t prepared for. So much of what had been familiar suddenly wasn’t anymore.

I was trying to figure out who I was in a life that looked and sounded very different from the one I had known.

And one of the hardest things for me was learning the difference between silence and stillness.

There were times when the quiet felt more like silentness—like something had been taken from me. I didn’t yet understand how to be still in a season I hadn’t chosen.

I wanted to know what was next.

I wanted to feel productive again.

I wanted to feel like me again.

And if I’m truthful, there were moments when I wondered if I would ever bloom again.

But standing there during our anniversary getaway, looking at that beautiful little flower, I realized something:

I already have.

Not because everything went back to the way it was.

It didn’t.

I bloomed because somewhere along the way, God began teaching me how to live, heal, grow, and become within the life I have now.

What once felt like only loss became soil.

What felt like waiting was also healing.

What felt quiet wasn’t necessarily empty.

Something was taking root.

And now, I can look back and see how far I’ve come.

I could enjoy this getaway with my husband. I could breathe. I could rest. I could appreciate where I was without constantly grieving where I used to be.

That little flower reminded me that blooming doesn’t always look like getting your old life back.

Sometimes blooming looks like discovering that there is still life after everything changed.

Maybe you’re in your own dry season right now.

Maybe life shifted unexpectedly, and you’re trying to find your footing again. Maybe you’re looking around and seeing everyone else’s flowers while wondering why nothing seems to be growing in your own life.

Please remember:

Every season has its moments of loneliness.

Some seasons may even feel dry, as though nothing is growing.

But roots grow where no one can see them.

Healing can happen quietly.

And God can be doing something within you long before there is visible evidence around you.

Hold on—your season will come.

And one day, you may find yourself standing somewhere you once weren’t sure you would ever reach, looking back and realizing:

I made it through that season.

I healed.

I grew.

And somewhere along the way… I began blooming again.

In time, you will bloom, Beautiful One. 🌸🐝🩷
